Each year, I select a Word of the Year—a meaningful word to guide my personal and professional focus. As the Regional Director of Operations at Arrow Senior Living, the start of a new year always feels like a time to reset, refocus, and prepare for challenges and opportunities. The word I choose serves as an anchor, shaping how I lead my team, support families, and enhance the resident experience. Reflecting on 2024, I’m truly amazed by how much my Word of the Year influenced our journey.
The Arrow word of the year for 2024 was value. This word reflects our commitment to helping residents, both current and future, fully appreciate the exceptional value of living in an Arrow community. After several challenging years shaped by the pandemic, re-establishing this sense of value was critical.
The focus on value guided our decisions, strengthened relationships, and supported growth across Arrow communities. It influenced vendor selections, shaped product offerings, and refined policies and procedures. Every choice was rooted in creating value-added services to enhance the resident experience.
Creating both perceived and tangible value led to meaningful growth and change. This effort included refining offerings, rethinking how we create impactful experiences, and improving efficiency across all operations. Embracing these changes allowed Arrow to become more transformative in its approach, further elevating the care and service we provide.
Looking ahead to 2025, my Word of the Year is transformation. This word represents the continued evolution that comes from embracing growth, innovation, and change. It reflects our ongoing mission to elevate the experience for residents, staff, and families alike.
Transformation will guide us as we push boundaries, inspire new ideas, and create lasting improvements that resonate throughout Arrow communities. It’s a commitment to adapt, improve, and exceed expectations in every way possible.
As 2025 approaches, I’m reflecting on the lessons of 2024 and stepping into a new chapter with transformation as my guide. Choosing a Word of the Year isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about setting an intention and remaining open to the journey ahead.
