Arrow Senior Living Plant Operations Allows No Slip Ups With Building Safety

Category: Health & Wellness

Author: Mike Boyd, Managing Director of Asset Management

Building Safety Month takes place in May every year and is internationally recognized for raising awareness in keeping buildings safe.

This initiative unites industries, associations, academia, and government under a common goal to protect the public by creating a safe and resilient environment. Our primary focus as the Plant Operations Team at Arrow Senior Living is keeping our residents, visitors, and staff safe.

There are several tasks I perform to safeguard our home office community. One of those tasks is to make sure the outside of the property is maintained. Don Harris and I were the “go to” sidewalk shovelers when we had snowfall this past winter.

I believe that we are all accountable to the safety of our communities we work in. I’m most proud of our entire team that stays on top of their inspections, drills, and maintains a safe environment for their coworkers, visitors, and residents.

I do my best to practice building safety at home. I change out the batteries in the smoke detectors regularly and replace the filter in my furnace every month. Our family has an emergency plan also just in case something happens.

Saint Charles, Missouri-based Arrow Senior Living manages a portfolio of communities that offer varying levels of care, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Each and every senior living community supports residents by focusing on dignity, respect, and quality of life. The programs and amenities offered are selected to provide only the highest standard of quality and comfort.
